I know, this is a wild deviation from the stuff I normally post BUT…

I’ve been saying this for a really long time…movie score composers are the modern versions of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven.  I love movies, so if I find one that really moves me, it normally implies that the score had something to do with it.  I was studying last night, listening to a playlist of well known movie themes. Needless to say, I was inspired. And crying.

The Schindler’s List theme still gives me chills and an almost uncontrollable urge to sob. This video, showing clips from the movie, doesn’t help either.  The movie is shocking, disturbing, unnerving, raw and emotional.  And this piece of music taps into each of those emotions.  It was composed by John Williams.

The violin of ITZHAK PERLMAN in this theme is the definition of divine.
